Offering a unique and vital series of trumpeting/musical experiences, from the exploration of the natural trumpet, learning how to structure free improvisation, and first performances of important new compositions, the Chosen Vale International Trumpet Seminar is a place where participants are challenged to look beyond what he or she has already studied and grow in unexpected, musical ways. Participants are asked to work outside their own self-defined “comfort zone”, to take new risks, and to accept personal responsibility for their technical and musical growth. Selected participants will perform with faculty members in three formal concerts in the Mary Keene Chapel as well as present solo and mixed trumpet ensemble music throughout the region.
