Announcing the Colin Currie Scholarship for Chosen Vale

Colin Currie is personally donating a $1000 scholarship to Chosen Vale for a student demonstrating exceptional talent as a percussionist and the potential to be a leader in the field of percussion.

To apply:
Submit your application to Chosen Vale
- AND -
Submit the following to chosenvalepercussion@gmail.com:

  1. a link to a video performance of two solos (can be mallet, multiple percussion, timpani, or other) that has been posted to Youtube or Vimeo.
  2. an answer to the following question:

What goals do you plan to achieve at Chosen Vale and how will this opportunity impact your growth as a future leader in the field of percussion?

2012 Percussion Seminar Announced

July 2 – 14, 2012

The Chosen Vale International Percussion Seminar is a place where participants will be exposed to and given the opportunity to work and perform with visionary leaders in the field of percussion in addition to a peerless collection of composers. Percussionists at the Seminar are asked to work outside their own self-defined “comfort zone”, to take new risks, and to accept personal responsibility for their technical and musical growth. Selected participants will perform with faculty members in three formal concerts in the Mary Keene Chapel as well as present solo and ensemble performances throughout the region.

“Chosen Vale will provide an invaluable opportunity for learning and growth. Having an opportunity to spend time in this unique retreat will foster meaningful and focused music making and creativity.”
